now and in the future. Position Overview:The IT Cyber Security
Intern will support the IT Cyber Security team in monitoring,
investigating, and responding to security incidents across the
organization. The IT Cyber Security Intern will assist in
researching emerging cybersecurity trends, contributing to the
development of best practices, and assisting with various
cybersecurity initiatives. The intern will be working alongside
developers in the maintenance and security of Astound systems and
networks. Where you will work:
- This opportunity offers the flexibility to work from your home
office, but you may need to commute to one of our local offices as
needed on an intermittent basis. A Day in the Life of the IT Cyber
Security Intern:
- Investigate intrusion incidents, performing detailed forensic
investigations to assess damage and potential remediation
actions.
- Respond immediately to cybersecurity-related incidents and
provide a thorough post-event analysis.
- Review security logs and analyze alerts to identify potential
indicators of compromise and security threats.
- Research emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and best
practices to enhance the organization's overall security
strategy.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely and efficient
manner, ensuring all cybersecurity efforts are documented and
reported accurately.
- Configure and troubleshoot network and endpoint Cyber Security
tools.
- Other duties as assigned. What You Bring to the Table:
- Prior experience with endpoint security, firewalls, antivirus
software, and other security technologies is a plus.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, network
protocols, and security tools.
- Familiarity with network security concepts, intrusion
detention, and incident response processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, with attention to
detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively
in a team environment. Education:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security,
Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Compensation:The base compensation for this position is $20.00 per
hour. The base pay represents the low and high end of the hiring
