This position provides effective legal representation and handles moderately complex litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
You will report to senior manager, legal. LI-Remote
Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
Handle litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
Analyze file as litigation progresses as well as risk to the company. Draft all necessary pleadings, papers and briefs to advance litigation activities at the trial or appellate level. Advocate client position in all forums (state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals and regulatory hearings) and circumstances, both formal and informal.
Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyzes how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions.
May develop areas of specialty practice (e.g. special property, workers` compensation, environmental law, commercial coverage).

Demonstrated litigation experience.
Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law.
Admitted to the state bar in the state where they are located or (1) admission to the bar within one year of hire for individuals who must pass a bar exam or portions of a bar exam to be admitted or (2) bar admission as soon as practicable but no later than 60 days of hire for individuals with diploma privilege or who are eligible for in-house counsel registration.
Preferred locations include North Jersey, ideally Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Union Counties.
