highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager Business
Development for our North America Group (NAG). This critical role
will be instrumental in driving our growth strategy through the
execution of strategic alliances, mergers, acquisitions and other
business development initiatives.The incumbent will work on a
hybrid work schedule from our Princeton NJ office.Roles &
Responsibilities
- Strategic Opportunity Assessment: Identify and evaluate
potential business development opportunities, including
in-licensing, M&A, divestitures, and collaborations, aligned
with the company's strategic objectives. Conduct thorough market
research, competitive analysis, and financial modelling to support
recommendations
- Business Case Development: Lead the development of
comprehensive business cases for proposed transactions,
incorporating detailed financial projections, market analysis,
competitive landscape assessment, and strategic rationale.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Portfolio, Marketing,
Business Partners) to gather necessary data and ensure
alignment
- Transaction Execution: Manage the end-to-end transaction
process, from initial due diligence and term sheet negotiation to
definitive agreement execution and closing. This includes
coordinating cross-functional due diligence teams, leading site
audits, and working closely with legal counsel and external
business partners
- Financial Modelling and Analysis: Develop and maintain
sophisticated financial models to evaluate the financial viability
of potential transactions. Conduct sensitivity analyses and
scenario planning to assess potential risks and opportunities
- Negotiation and Relationship Management: Support negotiations
with potential partners and counterparties, ensuring mutually
beneficial agreements are reached. Build and maintain strong
relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and
external
- Due Diligence and Integration: Oversee the due diligence
process, identifying key risks and opportunities. Support
post-transaction integration activities to ensure seamless
transitions and value realization
- Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market and
competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and potential
opportunities. Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory
changes
- Presentation and Communication: Prepare and deliver compelling
presentations to senior management and other stakeholders,
communicating key findings and
recommendations.QualificationsEducational qualification: Bachelor's
Degree in a science related field (Pharmacy preferred); MBA is a
plusMinimum work experience: 3-6 years of relevant experience in
Business Development / M&A within the pharmaceutical industry;
preferably within the generic Pharma sector.Skills & attributes:
- Pharmaceutical Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the
pharmaceutical industry, including drug development, regulatory
pathways, and commercialization strategies. Experience in the
generic pharma industry is highly preferred.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial modelling skills, including
experience building complex financial models and conducting
valuation analyses. Understanding of key financial metrics and
accounting principles.
- Transaction Experience: Demonstrated experience in executing a
range of business development transactions, including in-licensing,
M&A, and divestitures. Experience with due diligence and
negotiation.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyse
complex data, identify key insights, and develop creative solutions
to complex problems.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and
verbal communication skills, including the ability to present
complex information clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal
skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with key
stakeholders.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Strong organizational
skills and attention to detail.
- Legal and Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with legal and
regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical
transactions.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a
